An index fund created to track the CS2 Steam Community Market
Chart is same as above but with the addition of trade volume on the second plot. Dark vertical lines are the start of a year and lighter vertical lines are July 1st of a year.
The above transaction plot is slightly different to the index fund as it capture the total amount of money that transacted on a given day. Transactions are calculated first by multiplying every item’s median daily price by it’s daily volume. Then I sum every day’s worth of transactions. The transaction metric is likely better at capturing trading popularity and market volatility than the index fund. Transaction amounts peaked on April 25th of 2023 at $10,847,858.
